    Academic Writing placement is determined prior to each student’s first semester of enrollment at TC3. Some students are required to take ENGL 098 – Accelerated Writing Skills for ENGL 100 – as a co-requisite with ENGL 100 in their first semester. Students who are exempted from ENGL 100 must substitute a three-credit SUNY GEN ED Elective that is also a Liberal Arts course. The course should be selected in consultation with the student's advisor.
